It appears the USC Trojans are trying to make for lost time in the fun department. Ever since Lane Kiffin was fired this past Sunday morning, interim coach Ed Orgeron and his staff have been making a push on relaxing the atmosphere on campus. They’ve let the media back into practice. They’ve lifted the ban on desserts at team meals. And now, they’ve instituted an annual tradition known as the “Trojan Bowl”.
The first annual Trojan Bowl, which featured an offensive/defensive matchup of walk-ons and redshirt players coached by starters, was played yesterday afternoon. It’s easy to see from the video that everyone had a great time – something we haven’t seen much of in LA for a few years now.
As for who won between the offense and defense – that’s up for debate. ESPN claims the score finished tied at 18-18, but the video claims the defense won. Either way, this kind of thing seems to be exactly what the program needs.
