Where: They will open play against Louisville in Orlando on Thursday.
Why: Manhattan finished the regular season with a 15-5 record in the MAAC, finishing in second place behind Iona. The Jaspers earned the league’s auto-bid by knocking off the Gaels in the conference title game.
Ceiling: Manhattan has won 11 of its last 12 games, so the Jaspers are easily one of the hottest mid-majors heading into the NCAA Tournament. They also haven’t reached the NCAA Tournament in a decade, so they’re certain to be hungry to stick around for at least two games. Senior guard George Beamon is key, as always, for Manhattan.
