Kyle Korver trade: Cavs on the verge of finalizing a deal with Atlanta.
The Cleveland Cavaliers and Atlanta Hawks are reportedly on the verge of finalizing a trade that will send elite 3-point shooter Kyle Korver to Ohio.
The news was first reported by Yahoo! Sports’ Adrian Wojnarowski and Shams Charania.
Cleveland is currently lacking depth at the shooting guard position with J.R. Smith sidelined with an injury.
Korver has been one of the league’s best 3-point shooters for roughly a decade. The 35-year-old is entering the twilight of his career, but is still shooting nearly 41 percent from the 3-point line.
So far with the Hawks this season, he’s averaging 9.5 points, 2.8 rebounds and 2.3 assists per game.
Atlanta is appearing to enter re-build mode, as All-Star big man Paul Milsap is also reportedly on the trading block.
At this time, it’s unclear what Cleveland will be sending Atlanta for Korver, a 2015 All-Star.
