It is an emotional night in Boston.
Boston Celtics star Isaiah Thomas lost his younger sister Chyna in a tragic car accident yesterday. There was talk he might not play in tonight’s playoff opener, and he could be seen crying pre-game.
When Thomas did take the court, he was greeted with a standing ovation during lineup introductions, and the crowd cheered forcefully early on when he went to the free-throw line twice and connected on 3-of-5 attempts.
Then, this sequence happened. Thomas in transition, finding an open Avery Bradley for a three-pointer. Following a steal, Bradley found Thomas again, and the 5-foot-9 floor general launched from deep.
Nothing but net. Cue an explosion from the TD Garden crowd.

If you didn’t get chills watching that, check your pulse. Moments like that are part of what makes sports great.
Thomas already has 13 points for the Celts. We’re pulling for him for sure.
