The top NBA Draft pick ate some weird food while out to dinner with the Knicks.
The Knicks thought about drafting N.C. State point guard Dennis Smith Jr., but opted to take French star Frank Ntilikina instead at No. 8 overall.
Did New York’s thought process have anything to do with Smith’s eating habits?
The former ACC star told the New York Daily News that the Knicks pressured him into eating octopus while out to dinner in New York.
“We went out to some restaurant and they had me eat some octopus, like an actual octopus tentacle,” Smith Jr. told the New York Daily News. “First time ever. I wasn’t going to try it, honestly. They kind of put the pressure on me to do it.
Smith went on to be taken by the Dallas Mavericks and showed out in the NBA summer league.
