Didn’t expect to see this today.
The Republicans have unveiled a tax plan this week, with a host of changes on the way if it goes through. We will let you look the plan up on your own time, because it is way too in-depth to get into on this website.
However, the new plan does have a slight connection to sports. Golden State Warriors star Steph Curry is mentioned in it, as an example of the effects of lowering the tax rate of pass-through businesses while also eliminating a potential loophole for wealthy Americans (like Curry).
“Our legislation will ensure this much-needed tax relief goes to the local job creators it’s designed to help by distinguishing between the individual wage income of NBA All-Star Stephen Curry and the pass-through business income of Steve’s Bike Shop,” the portion of the plan reads.
There is only one person mentioned in GOP tax plan and it’s Steph Curry. 🤦🏾♂️ pic.twitter.com/YynmtvNgyH

Curry, who has been critical of President Donald Trump and drew the leader’s ire recently, had this to say about his appearance in the plan.
I wonder if Steve’s Bike shop is hiring…

Sometimes sports and politics intersects in the strangest places.
