Another day, another shoe company for Lonzo Ball.
The Los Angeles Lakers rookie has been breaking from his Big Baller Brand commitment to wear sneakers from different companies during summer league.
First, it was the Kobes (Nike), then James Harden’s signature shoe (adidas). He wore Steph Curry’s Under Armour kicks yesterday, and tonight he’s breaking out a new brand.
Ball will wear Jordan XXI’s when he squares off with Dallas Mavericks heralded rookie point guard Dennis Smith Jr.

Many have suspected that Ball wearing different shoes is all part of a long game by his father LaVar to entice the shoe companies to enter a bidding war for his son.
After all, when you’re sponsored by an apparel company, you aren’t supposed to be wearing gear from a rival company. Therefore, one would think there has to be an ulterior motive here.
Lonzo basically confirmed his dad’s plan to ESPN’s Cassidy Hubbarth tonight.
"You're wearing the Jordan 31s tonight … are you trying to start a bidding war here?" – @CassidyHubbarth

There you have it. If this was the Ball’s marketing plan all along, it just might end up working.
