The Knicks released a statement on their decision to lock arms during the national anthem.
With a number of NFL stars choosing to kneel for the national anthem – both before and after Donald Trump’s comments a few weeks back – many were wondering if any NBA players would follow suit. The Knicks went a different route on Tuesday night.
The Knicks chose to stand and lock arms during the national anthem ahead of their first preseason contest against the Brooklyn Nets. They then released a statement on the matter, explaining their decision.

It’ll be interesting to see if any of the league’s superstars – like LeBron James or Steph Curry – choose to make a statement. As a reminder, the NBA actually has a rule against sitting during the playing of the anthem.
