Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook spent most of their careers on the same team, but there doesn’t appear to be much love lost tonight in Oklahoma City.
During the third quarter of tonight’s game on ABC, the two superstars got into a heated exchange on the court, as tensions flared.
Video, from Huffinton Post editor Phillip Lewis:
Durant had an even more heated interaction with another former Thunder teammate: wing Andre Roberson. The two went face to face.
While the animosity seems pretty balanced on the court, and overwhelming in the stands where chants of “cupcake” rain down regularly in Durant’s direction, the scoreboard is not nearly as even. Durant’s Thunder have a sizable 110-96 lead in the fourth quarter. Westbrook leads all scorers with 41 points, along with 11 rebounds and seven assists (and nine turnovers), while Durant has 27 points on 18 shots, and nine rebounds to his name.
There’s still time, but the Thunder need an all-time comeback if they want to overcome their former teammate and MVP.
