Here’s why Lonzo Ball hasn’t been wearing his own shoes during summer league.
Lonzo Ball is the only rookie in the NBA who already has his own signature shoe. He hasn’t really been wearing it, though.
The Lakers’ rookie rocked his Big Baller Brand ZO2s for his first summer league game, but stopped wearing them after that.
Ball has since worn the signature shoes of Kobe Bryant (Nike), James Harden (Adidas), Steph Curry (Under Armour) and Michael Jordan (Jordan).
Why is he doing this?
Ball admitted last night that he’s basically trying to start a bidding war among the major brands.
Lonzo Ball is wearing the Air Jordan 31 tonight. When asked if he's trying to start a bidding war, his answer was, "Something like that."

Big Baller Brand’s ZO2s reportedly haven’t sold a ton of pairs, and it’s really tough to make your own shoes with no help from a major company, so Ball getting signed by Nike or adidas or Under Armour or someone like that makes sense.
