The Celtics and the Wizards got in a bit of a scuffle in Boston tonight.
The Boston Celtics and the Washington Wizards don’t like each other.
Following the Celtics’ win over the Wizards in Boston tonight, a scrum broke out in the court. At the center of the scrum were Washington star point guard John Wall and Boston forward Jae Crowder. The two players were talking post-game and everything escalated when Crowder put his finger in Wall’s face, making contact with his nose.
Here’s video of what happened.
Wall reportedly might have injured himself in the scrum, though details are minimal.
Wall broke his wrist in the playoffs against the Atlanta Hawks back in 2015, but was able to come back later in that series. He’s having a career year and any kind of serious injury would be crushing to Washington’s season.
The Wizards are set to host the Celtics in D.C. on Tuesday, Jan. 24.
Update (10:42 p.m.): Wall says his hand issues were existing before the game started.
That’s better than injuring yourself in a post-game scrum, at least.
