More information has been released about the death of a 16-year-old football player in Long Island.
Thursday morning, tragedy struck Sachem East High School in Farmingville, New York, when a member of the school’s football team died during a practice drill.
While initial reports noted that the drill involved a “pole” – more has now been released.
Joshua Mileto, the 16-year-old player who died, was part of a drill that involved carrying a large log. Here’s more, via ABC:
“A group of athletes were performing a drill carrying a log overhead when the log fell and struck Joshua Mileto, a student at the school, in the head,” police said in a statement.
The incident reportedly occurred just before 8:40 am during an offseason workout.
