Boomer Esiason issued a statement on Craig Carton’s arrest Thursday morning.
Wednesday, news broke that WFAN’s Craig Carton had been arrested and charged with fraud for allegedly running a $5 million ponzi scheme involving a fake ticket resale company to pay off his gambling debts. At the time, his partner, Boomer Esiason, could do no more than acknowledge the situation on air.
Thursday, Esiason first issued a WFAN-crafted statement before adding his personal thoughts on the matter. In short, he said he still “loves” his partner of 10 years and prays for his family and children.
FTW transcribed Esiason’s statement.
“Maybe our point guard’s not here, but we’re going to continue to do it and I’m going to bring my friends in here til we find a permanent replacement, if in fact that’s where this is going to take us. But I just want people to know out there, that I love my partner for 10 years. I still love my partner. I love his family, I love his kids. And I am praying every single day that he lands on his feet, that they land on their feet. And there’s nothing worse than having a family go through what they have to go through now.”

WFAN, meanwhile, is moving forward to try to find a permanent replacement for Carton.
