Emily Austen has a new gig.
In June of 2016, FOX Sports sideline reporter Emily Austen appeared on a Barstool Sports Facebook Live show and made a number of insensitive, racist remarks that quickly went viral. Austen apologized in the aftermath, but it wasn’t enough to save her job.
This June, Austen announced that she’d be putting the experience to good use.
In a long Twitter post, she admitted her mistakes, criticized those suggesting she commit suicide, and announced that she’d be speaking in front of a number of young athletes to teach them about the dangers of social media.

So far, it looks like she’s met with at least two schools – Eastern Michigan and Boston College. Check it out:

It’s safe to assume that Austen has more appearances lined up as well, judging by her post.
Let’s hope her decision to spread the word has a positive impact on all.
