Skipper will remain ESPN’s president for several more years.
ESPN president John Skipper isn’t going anywhere.
The Big Lead reports that Disney has agreed to a multi-year contract extension with Skipper, who is now signed through 2021.
Skipper, who’s been with the Worldwide Leader since 1997, has been the company’s president since January 2012.
ESPN has had multiple major controversies this year, with the suspension of Jemele Hill and the cancellation of Barstool Van Talk, and more big news is reportedly on the way. More than 100 ESPN employees are reportedly set to be laid off after Thanksgiving. This comes after several high-profile employees were laid off this past spring.
Disney is apparently still confident in Skipper, though, as they’re sticking with him for several more years at least.
