A former NHL player was diagnosed with colon cancer.
Longtime NHL star and current NBC analyst, Eddie Olczyk announced that he was diagnosed with cancer on Tuesday afternoon.
In a statement released by the Chicago Blackhawks, Olczyk reveals that he is currently undergoing treatment for colon cancer.
Olczyk, 50, remains positive that he will be back in the broadcast booth after his treatment is completed.

The Chicago Blackhawks drafted Olczyk with the No. 3 overall pick in the 1984 NHL Draft. He went on to play for five other teams including the New York Rangers and Pittsburgh Penguins.
