According to a report from The Washington Post, legendary sports commentator Frank Deford has passed away.
Frank Deford, one of the most well-known sports writers and sports commentators in the country, has passed away at the age of 78, according to a report from The Washington Post. The publication confirmed the news with Deford’s wife.
Deford had major roles in print, television and radio. He served as a senior contributor for Sports Illustrated for 32 years. He was part of Real Sports With Bryant Gumbel for 20 years. And he worked at NPR from 1980 until just a few weeks ago.
Deford also authored 20 books. Chances are, you’ve come across his work before.
