It sounds like the Vols will have Jalen Hurd back for Saturday’s showdown against Alabama.
Tennessee running back Jalen Hurd did not make the trip to Texas A&M this past Saturday due to an undisclosed injury, but it sounds like he will take the field against the Crimson Tide on Saturday.
Head coach Butch Jones, via the weekly SEC teleconference, told 247 Sports and other media that “Jalen Hurd is back full-go” hinting that he will at the very least be available for Saturday’s game.
Hurd has rushed for 407 yards and two touchdowns on 101 carries this season. He is also a threat in the receiving game as he has 82 yards and two scores on seven receptions this season.
Hurd took a pretty big shot in the Georgia game two weeks ago and played a very limited role following his touchdown early in the third quarter.
The Vols suffered their first loss of the season last week in a double overtime thriller in College Station.
Tennessee welcomes the Crimson Tide to Knoxville on Saturday with kickoff set for 3:30 p.m. EST. You can watch the game on CBS.
