A coaching legend has passed away.
Longtime NHL coach and general manager Bryan Murray passed away on Saturday after a lengthy battle with cancer.
Murray, 74, compiled over 600 wins as a coach for the Ottawa Senators, Washington Capitals, Detroit Red Wings, Florida Panthers and Anaheim Ducks. He also served in several front offices, including the Senators where he worked from 2007 to 2016.
He stepped down as the Senators general manager nearly 18 months after his Stage 4 colon cancer diagnosis.
The 35-year NHL veteran was honored by several other teams including the Detroit Red Wings and Anaheim Ducks, both of which he spent time with.
Our thoughts are with the Murray family and NHL community.
