In what continues to be an unfortunate off-season for Butler basketball, the team has suffered yet another blow, losing its top returning player Roosevelt Jones. Jones has torn ligaments in his left wrist and will not be able to play this upcoming season, according to Zak Keefer of the IndyStar.
Jones was injured while the team was getting ready for the season in Australia, just minutes after stepping onto the floor.
Jones started all 36 games for Butler last season, and the last 67 games overall. His 10.1 points per game and 5.6 rebounds per game last season made him arguably Butler’s top returning player for the 2013-14 season.
The only bright side in this situation? Jones is remaining positive after the injury.
Best of luck to Roosevelt in his recovery.
