The veteran reporter and sports personality is leaving the network.
ESPN is losing one of its most-prominent Around The Horn panelists and NBA reporters.
J.A. Adande confirmed to The Big Lead this evening that he is officially leaving the network for good.
The veteran reporter, who had been with the network full-time for 10 years, has decided to focus on his academia roles at Northwestern. Adande became the Director of Sports Journalism at Northwestern, his alma mater, last year.
Adande told The Big Lead that he simply couldn’t continue to do two jobs at once.
“Mainly, I couldn’t do two jobs at once,” Adande told TBL. “Last year, when I started the Northwestern job, I really wasn’t ready to say I used to work for ESPN. I wasn’t quite ready to give that up. But now, I’m at a place where I just want to focus on Northwestern. I really want to wake up in the morning and obsess over one thing.”
Adande first appeared on Around The Horn in 2002
Best of luck moving forward, J.A.
