The 2017 college football season is long gone, but today’s a time to look back at something fun from the year that was: Attendance rankings. The NCAA has released attendance information for the ’17 season.
The top of the attendance rankings are dominated by the Big Ten. This shouldn’t be that surprising, as the Big Ten is home to some of the country’s biggest stadiums.
Michigan had the highest average attendance of any team in the country. The Wolverines averaged more than 111,000 fans at every home game.
Ohio State has the highest total attendance of any team in the country. The Buckeyes had more than 750,000 fans come to games in 2017.
Another Big Ten school, Penn State, comes in at No. 3. The Nittany Lions ranked third among all schools in both average attendance and total attendance.
