The new Monday Night Football theme song isn’t going over well.
Monday night, for the first time since 2011, Hank Williams Jr. was back singing the Monday Night Football theme song. But the new version, which includes Florida Georgia Line and Jason Derulo, isn’t getting great reviews.
Twitter, to put it mildly, is having a field day after watching it.
Here’s the new intro, if you didn’t catch it ahead of the Minnesota Vikings vs. New Orleans Saints game:

Here’s how Twitter reacted:
Just what America needs, a country-rap #MNF theme song.

Hank Williams Jr's return to MNF can be debated. His song is iconic without debate. Also undebatable: adding Florida Georgia Line was awful.

I never thought I'd say that Hank Williams MNF song would sound worse than Carrie Underwood on SNF but this is where we are. #SMH

Oh dear god MNF what song is this

Williams, if you’re wondering, originally lost the gig after comparing Barack Obama to Hitler during a FOX broadcast back in 2011.
Perhaps it’ll just be a matter of time before fans like the new version. We’ll see.
