The man is always on call.
Adam Schefter is the NFL insider for ESPN, so he’s always working the phones. There has been at least one instance in the past where he’s had to leave the set of a show to take a call.
It happened again this morning while Schefter was appearing on Mike and Mike. He was on set reporting on the Dallas Cowboys signing veteran running back Ronnie Hillman when the cameras showed him texting frantically.
He then excused himself and told the two hosts he had to take a call.
You can see that in the clip below:
A few minutes later, Schefter reappeared and explained that the whole thing was a prank set up by an NFL general manager.
The unnamed executive had said he was in the process of making a blockbuster trade, and consequently, Schefter’s phone blew up.
Turns out it was a false alarm.
Never a dull moment for Schefty.
