Heads up — this one is just a bit tough to watch. Midway through the fourth quarter of today’s NFC Championship Game between the Seattle Seahawks and San Francisco 49ers, Russell Wilson was looking to give his team a two-score lead from inside the red zone. He tossed a pass to Jermaine Kearse over the middle, who was promptly wrapped up and then stripped by 49ers linebacker NaVorro Bowman.
The refs, however, blew the play dead before the strip, so San Francisco actually didn’t come up with the obvious fumble recovery. To make matters worse, Bowman’s leg actually got caught under Kearse on the play and bent in a manner that legs simply aren’t supposed to — he left the game with a “left leg injury”:
