Arizona has been one of the nation’s most dominant teams this season, and their third round game against Gonzaga was no different. The Wildcats dominated the Bulldogs from start to finish, and nailed down an 84-61 win. San Diego State snuck by New Mexico State in the second round, and locked up a potent North Dakota State offense in the third round to make the regional semifinal. The winner will face the winner of Wisconsin-Baylor.

Prediction: San Diego State gave Arizona a very tough game back in November, eventually falling to the Wildcats 69-60. Both of these teams excel on the defensive end. Arizona’s blowout win over Gonzaga in the third round was about as impressive a performance as you’ll find; the Wildcats offense was fueled by an astounding 21 turnovers caused on the defensive end. San Diego State’s defense has similarly guided them throughout this tournament run, but outside of the excellent Xavier Thames, the Aztecs have struggled to score. This one may be close again, but Arizona should have too much on the offensive end for SDSU to keep up with. Unless Thames has a Jordan-like performance, expect the Wildcats to advance to the West Region Final.
