Update: The second half wasn’t much better for Washington State, but the Cougars did manage to clear 20 points on the night. Arizona scored an impressive victory, 60-25, as WSU shot 20% during the affair. Yikes.

Earlier: Given the fact that Arizona’s basketball team is ranked No. 1 in the nation, you’d have expected Washington State to have trouble tonight against the Wildcats. But the performance the Cougars have put together in Tuscan, Arizona is nothing short of abysmal. WSU has scored just seven points during the entire first half. The Wildcats have played poorly on offense as well, but they’ve managed 28 points thus far.

Some stats? The Cougars shot 2-of-21 in the first half – a whopping 9.5% – while committing 11 turnovers. The team has scored just two actual baskets – three of its points came on free throws. As you can see above, they’re hearing about it from Arizona’s student section.
