Some college football coaches are a little bit better with the whole concept of utilizing “new media” than others. Oregon State coach Mike Riley showed today that he’s on the right side of the proverbial fence.
Riley and Oregon State are starting a new tradition titled “Tweet Film Tuesday” in which they ask high school players to tweet them their highlight reels with the hashtag #GoBeavs. His team will then take the top ten and evaluate them to see if they’re interested.
First ever “Tweet Film Tuesday”: tweet your HL link with the #GoBeavs and our Recruiting Dept will choose 10 to evaluate.

It’s an interesting way to try to find talent – they’re basically giving all HS players the opportunity to show them what they can do on the field. It sounds like a pretty good way to find a few diamonds in the rough. It’s also a good way to show recruits that you understand the power of social media.
