The 6-foot-4, 213-pound Costello is the No. 4 Pro Style quarterback and No. 33 overall player in the nation according to 247Sports’ composite rankings. He is the second verbal commit in Stanford’s 2016 class, joining three-star defensive lineman Bo Peek of Tampa (Fla.) Berkeley Prep.
