Lonzo Ball was asked about his brother’s legal troubles over in China.
Tuesday, UCLA freshman LiAngelo Ball and two of his teammates were arrested in China on suspicion of shoplifting, which, we’ve all since learned, can result in a lengthy prison sentence upon conviction. Wednesday, Los Angeles Lakers rookie Lonzo Ball – LiAngelo’s brother – was asked about the incident.
Ball said that he hasn’t spoken to his brother or his father – adding that his people are “handling” the situation over in China.
Here’s the back-and-forth:
Reporter: Have you talked to your brother yet?
Ball: No, I haven’t talked to any of them yet. I know they’re all over in China taking care of it. So I’ll talk them when they get back.
Reporter: What are your thoughts, watching it from afar and hearing about your brother shoplifting?
Ball: I’m just trying to focus on the game.
Reporter: Has it affected you at all?
Ball: No, I know my people over there are handling it. So I’m over here just taking care of business.
Reporter: Have you been able to talk to your dad?
Ball: I haven’t talked to any of them.
We’ll keep you updated on the situation.
