In one season at UCLA, Zach LaVine averaged 9.4 points, 2.5 rebounds, and 1.8 assists per game. A respectable stat line, but not one often claimed by a projected NBA first round pick.
LaVine isn’t a prototypical early entrant into the NBA, though. The former Bruins’ guard is almost purely relying on his athleticism and his potential when it comes to draft stock, compared to many players who have hours of above average-to-great game film. The “Pre-Draft Mix Tape” LaVine put out today is impressive, however, and does a good job portraying the type of freakish athlete the 6-foot-5 guard is.
LaVine is currently projected to go to the Boston Celtics with pick No. 17 by DraftExpress.com.
