In 2008, the Seattle SuperSonics–later the Oklahoma City Thunder–selected Russell Westbrook, a combo guard out of UCLA, with the No. 4 pick in the NBA Draft. Many questioned the pick, with Westbrook being ridiculously athletic but lacking developed fundamentals and a pure position.
Zach LaVine might not be the next Westbrook, but there are some similarities. The first being that they’re both from UCLA and are insane athletes. Check out LaVine setting a Lakers’ workout record with a 46-inch vertical jump.
Like Westbrook, LaVine’s stock has been rising. Some have the 6-foot-5 guard, who spent one season at UCLA, as a potential top-10 pick.
