College football may already have its marquee non-conference game of the 2016 season. USC athletics announced on its Twitter account that the Trojans will take on Alabama at the Cowboys Classic in Arlington Stadium in Arlington, Texas, marking the first time that the two teams will play since 1985. The news was then confirmed by ESPN’s Brett McMurphy and Alabama football’s Twitter account.

Any time two of college football’s powerhouse programs meet up on the gridiron, we approve. While USC has never played in the Cowboys Classic, Alabama holds a 1-0 record, having beaten Michigan 41-14 in 2012.
