USC’s new head basketball coach has yet to coach a game for the Trojans, but he’s already endearing himself perfectly to the fans. Andy Enfield, who was recently hired from Florida Gulf Coast University following the 2013 ‘Dunk City’ NCAA Tournament run, is bringing his up-tempo style of play to Los Angeles, and he thinks it will be a difference-maker. In fact, he recently stopped a USC scrimmage to remind his team just how important pace is.
According to Jeff Faraudo of the San Jose Mercury News, here’s what he told his players:
“We play up-tempo basketball here. If you want to play slow, go to UCLA.”
There’s nothing like a good jab at your hated cross-town rival. Is it too early to get a Enfield-Alford feud started?
