For those who don’t remember, Alabama’s 2011 BCS National Championship trophy was accidentally shattered after the father of one of the players on the Crimson Tide tripped and knocked it over last April. Yesterday, however, those shattered remains proved to be worth way more than anyone could have imagined.
The trophy, originally valued at $30,000, was sold at Alabama’s celebrity golf tournament for $105,000.
Alabama auctions off the broken 2011 BCS Champonship Trophy at its UA Celebrity Golf Tournament on Sunday. It brought a reported $105,000.

Pretty cool. I can’t think of too many things in this world that are worth more once broken. Here’s what it looked like at the auction, via Reddit.
Only in the SEC.
