Noted college football predictor Phil Steele made a prediction today that should make Alabama fans happy.
Steele, the producer of the annual Phil Steele’s College Football Preview magazine, a bible of sorts for the college football fan, is answering questions on Twitter this afternoon through ESPN’s @CollegeGameDay account. He was asked if he thinks an SEC team will finish the 2014 regular season undefeated. This is his response:
.@tcarden13 It will be difficult but I feel Alabama will be undefeated at the end of the regular season.

An undefeated regular season would, of course, put Alabama in prime position to make the College Football Playoff, but Nick Saban’s squad would likely still need a victory in the SEC Championship Game to earn a berth.
Alabama’s regular season schedule includes games against West Virginia, Florida, Texas A&M, LSU, and Auburn, among others.
