Center Hunter Brannon committed to Alabama back in July, but he just announced an offer from Lane Kiffin and Florida Atlantic.
Brannon tweeted that Kiffin, who is “doing big things” at FAU, came through with an offer this afternoon.

On paper, it seems extremely unlikely that Kiffin will be able to flip any commit, especially an in-state prospect like Brannon, from Alabama to FAU. However, Brannon might prove to be an interesting case here. The three-star recruit is the No. 42 player in the state of Alabama, per 247Sports, and Alabama is his only Power Five offer. Other teams that have come through with a scholarship include Appalachian State, Southern Miss, and Troy.
That being said, the fact that he has an Alabama offer at all is a strong endorsement of his abilities, even if his offer list is far shorter than the average ‘Bama pledge.
We highly doubt that Brannon makes the flip, but if he sees the Owls as a better opportunity for playing time, and has a good relationship with Kiffin, maybe FAU has a shot. Still, it is definitely not something we’d bet on happening. The chance for an Alabama native to suit up for the Crimson Tide has to be a very difficult one to turn down.
