Alabama Cade Foster went through a really rough couple of a days a few weeks ago after the Crimson Tide lost to Auburn in the Iron Bowl. Foster missed all three of his field goal attempts in the game and many irate Alabama fans sent him awful messages, including death threats. The hate messages he received went viral, and then Foster’s teammates came to his defense and showed support.
It appears that another very prominent figure heard of Cade’s plight and wanted to reach out in support — George W. Bush. Yep, the former president of the United States sent Foster a handwritten letter:
Dear Cade (#43), life has it’s setbacks. I know! However, you will be stronger with time..Sincerely- George Bush pic.twitter.com/jesykfKpDx

If anyone has heard from a million trolls and knows what it’s like to receive death threats, it’s the president. It’s very cool to see that he thought to reach out to Foster, who it seems really appreciated the gesture.
