Rayshaun Hammonds, a four-star power forward out of Norcross, Georgia, has a top nine schools list with a lean towards local programs.
The 6-foot-7 Hammonds put out his list via Twitter. It features three home state teams—Georgia, Georgia State, and Georgia Tech—as well as Alabama, Miami, Memphis, Texas, UConn, and Western Kentucky.

247Sports ranks Hammonds No. 55 overall in the class 2017. He is the No. 11 power forward in the class, and the No. 7 player in the state of Georgia.
This list is cut down from the top 14 he put out in July. Florida, LSU, Providence, Texas A&M, and Virginia Tech missed the cut from that group.
According to 247’s events timeline, he has five official visits to schools on this list scheduled. He’ll be at Georgia State on September 2, Texas on September 9, Memphis on September 23, Miami on October 7, and Alabama on October 21. It is hard to determine whether those schools have an edge on the four that won’t be receiving official visits, but fans of those programs should feel good about where they stand.
Hammonds averaged 19 points and 10 rebounds per game for Norcross High School as a junior.
