Update: Via Tuscaloosanews.com, we’ve got a few more details. According to Tuscaloosa police, Drake allegedly ignored police orders to stay away from a crime scene. Drake was reportedly near downtown Temerson Square around 1:00 AM when police were involved in a shootout. Per Sgt. Brent Blankley:
“His car was in the crime scene area, and he wanted to get to it. He went under the crime scene tape and tried to get to it anyway.”
Drake was handcuffed before reaching his car. More as we learn it.
Earlier: Alabama fans are waking up to some unfortunate news Saturday morning. Crimson Tide running back Kenyan Drake was reportedly arrested early this morning for what the Tuscaloosa County Sheriff’s Office is calling “Obstructing Government Operations”. We don’t have any details on what allegedly occurred, but Drake was booked in the county jail and had a mugshot taken. Drake’s bond was set at $1,000.
Drake is expected to split carries with T.J. Yeldon and Derrick Henry this upcoming season. We’ll update this post when we learn more.
