Tuskegee’s men’s basketball team defeated Albany State Tuesday night in the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference tournament, 80-63. The story of the game was what happened at halftime, though.
During the intermission period, the cheer squads from the two programs got into a bit of a brawl at Bill Harris Arena.

The conference issued the following statement following the brawl:
“The obligation to observe basic principles of sportsmanship and fair play extends to all participants at the SIAC basketball tournament. As a consequence of the incident on Tuesday, the cheerleading and dance teams from both Albany State University and Tuskegee University will not be permitted to participate in our tournament for the remainder of the week.”
Alabama apparently isn’t just a football state.
