The Razorbacks are reportedly close to hiring their replacement for former head coach Bret Bielema.
According to Yahoo Sports’ Pete Thamel, Southern Methodist head coach Chad Morris has emerged as Arkansas’ “top target.”
Morris, a former Texas high school head coach, was the nation’s highest-paid assistant coach during his time as Clemson’s offensive coordinator before taking over at SMU.

ESPN’s Adam Rittenberg also reports that Morris-to-Arkansas seems imminent.

Morris racked up a 14-22 record during his three seasons at SMU, but led the team from a 2-win season in 2015 to a 7-win team in 2017.
