SEC trash talk continues. This time, it’s Florida linebacker Jarrad Davis getting in a few words about one important member of his opposition this week – Tennessee freshman running back Jalen Hurd. According to Thomas Goldkamp of 247 Sports, Davis and the rest of the Gators plan to “welcome” Hurd to the SEC this Saturday when they visit Knoxville. Hurd is the Volunteers’ leading rusher through four games.
“Georgia was a big test for him, that’s a physical team,” Davis said. “But I feel like we have more to offer for him. We’re going to come down, we’re going to talk to him a little bit with the pads. We’re not going to talk with our mouth, we’re going to hit him and get back and get lined up.
“I don’t think he can hang with us. He’s a good athlete, but we’ve got a whole defense coming for him.”
Ironically, Davis is, in fact, talking with his mouth. Regardless, it’s another reason to tune in this Saturday.
Florida gave up 223 yards on the ground to Alabama two weeks ago, so the Gators are certainly not impenetrable. We’ll see which player gets the best of the matchup.
