Former Florida Gators’ football player Chris Johnson passed away Friday night in Western Pennsylvania. He was 22.
Johnson played at Florida for two seasons before transferring to Duquesne following the 2012 season. The defensive back nicknamed “Juice” by many of his teammates had 55 tackles this past season, the fifth-highest total on his Dukes’ team.
The cause of the death was unconfirmed.

Former Trinity Catholic football star Chris “Juice” Johnson died Friday night in western Pennsylvania where he attended Duquesne University.
Trinity Catholic athletic director Tommy Bond and Duquesne associate athletic director David Saba confirmed Johnson’s death late Saturday night. He was 22.
A cause of death was unable to be confirmed Saturday night by authorities in the Pittsburgh area where the campus is located.
