Earlier: The Florida Gators have got their man. Jim McElwain, who has coached Colorado State since 2012, has agreed to become the next head man down in Gainesville. ESPN’s Chris Low was the first to report the news.
The buyout issues have been resolved, and Florida is expected to announce Jim McElwain as its coach later today.

According to Low, the news will be announced by Florida later today.
McElwain, who coached the Rams to a 10-win season in 2014, has SEC ties. He previously served as Alabama’s offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach from 2008 to 2011.
Wednesday, it was reported that Florida and Colorado State were having a tough time agreeing on buyout terms for McElwain’s departure. That appears to have changed. McElwain replaces former head coach Will Muschamp, who led the Gators to a 28-21 record in his four years.
