After a brutal loss in overtime to Georgia in the Rose Bowl, Baker Mayfield has a message to Oklahoma’s fans.
The 2017 Heisman Trophy winner thanked fans for their never-ending support, adding that he gave 110% in his first tweet since the defeat. Here’s what he had to say after his final game wearing a Sooners uniform:
Thank you Sooner Nation. Thank you for giving me never ending support. I hope you know I gave it everything I had. It has been and unbelievable ride and I'm so glad we enjoyed it together. I love y'all. God Bless and Boomer. -Bake

Mayfield completed 23 of his 35 pass attempts for almost 300 yards and two touchdowns. The performance also included an incredible trick play which marked the first receiving touchdown of his career.
A walk-on at Oklahoma, Mayfield would go on to become a three-year starter, leading the Sooners to 34 wins in 40 games. This past season, he threw for 4,340 yards and 41 touchdowns with just five interceptions.
Mayfield, one of the most intriguing NFL Draft prospects, will next play in the Senior Bowl.
