Before Geno Atkins became an All-Pro defensive lineman for the Cincinnati Bengals, he starred at Georgia.
During his time in Athens (2007-09), Atkins totaled 33 sacks, including 15 as a sophomore and 10.5 as a senior. The 6-foot-1, 303-pound defensive tackle was also named a first-team All-SEC player in 2008.
Atkins is a player all Georgia players should attempt to emulate. The current crop of Bulldogs will now get to look at their inspiration each day they’re in their football facility, too.

Last fall, Atkins signed a 5-year, $55 million extension with the Bengals. So while Georgia defensive linemen should look to become the type of player Atkins is, pursuing the type of financial success he’s had wouldn’t be a bad idea, either. Though the two likely go hand-in-hand.
