Forward Brandon Morris, a two year starter for Georgia basketball, is no longer with the program following an arrest for drug-related charges. Morris, who played over 25 minutes per game for the Bulldogs and was the team’s third leading scorer with 8.6 points per game, was taken in early Sunday morning. The Athens Banner-Herald wrote about the arrest as the news broke on Sunday:
Georgia basketball forward Brandon Morris is facing a felony charge of possession of marijuana with intent to distribute.
Morris was arrested by Athens-Clarke County police and booked into the Clarke County Jail at 3:21 a.m. Sunday and released on a $2,500 bond before noon, according to the jail’s online booking report.
Morris was immediately suspended following the arrest, as per athletic department policy, and now he is officially no longer with the program.
News: Brandon Morris has been dismissed from the Georgia men’s basketball team.
