Many predicted this as a possible round of 32 match-up, and the selection committee has made it so. The winner of this one will meet Louisville in the Sweet 16.

Prediction: Wichita State will undoubtedly be the favorite in this one, a 35-0 record earns them that, but Kentucky should prove to be the toughest test that the Shockers have seen this year. The Wildcats have significant size inside unlike what Wichita has seen, especially in NBA Lottery hopeful Julius Randle. What the Shockers have on Kentucky is consistency and experience. Gregg Marshall’s club went to the Final Four last year while Kentucky was bounced early from the NIT. This one can certainly go either way. UK has played inspired basketball as of late, and Kentucky should have a lot of fans in St. Louis, but Wichita State is undefeated for a reason. This game will cement the ‘Cats as a dangerous contender, or the Shockers as the real deal.
