Few, if any, college basketball programs can produce better hypotheticals than Kentucky. The amount of talent that has gone through Lexington, Ky., since John Calipari arrived in 2009 is absurd. The “would Kentucky’s (insert year) team beat (insert another year’s) team” is a very fun game.
Anthony Davis, who led the Wildcats’ 2011-12 team to a national championship during his one season at Kentucky, played this game on Saturday. He was asked if his Kentucky team would beat this year’s undefeated Wildcats’ squad.
There is no doubt in Davis’ mind who would win that contest.
Anthony Davis was complimentary of this Kentucky team. But who’d win ’15 vs. ’12 title team? “Oh, I mean, we’d destroy them. No question.”

That’s not a surprising answer, but saying “we’d destroy them” might be a bit of an exaggeration. This year’s Kentucky team is 25-0, after all.
John Wall and DeMarcus Cousins would surely give a similar answer to Davis if asked how their 2009-10 Kentucky team would fare against this year’s (or the 2012 squad).
